(apparently, I've lost my "fun" gene)
I got a call from a friend tonight. If you could call it that. He drunk dialed me, and since I was on a deadline, I wasn't really feeling like putting up with his antics. He said he called me to ask me about my juice feast. He was at a party and my name (and "new-fangled diet") came up and apparently he just couldn't wait to get the story. I haven't seen him for a while, but I saw his wife at a social function recently (where I was asked why I wasn't eating or drinking) so I suspect she filled him in. After a few minutes of repeated questions about how much weight I've lost, whether or not he would have to give up booze while feasting, him talking over me, and his not-so-funny jokes, he declared that I wasn't funny anymore and that if I didn't plan to return to my old funny self, he didn't want me to stay on this diet.
Huh. Apparently I must have lost my "fun" gene. As one of my juice feasting buddies put, I probably peed it out :)
Depending on your social circle, juice feasting can definitely "separate you from the pack." I can tell it has for me. My values haven't changed because I'm juice feasting. Juice feasting is simply the lens that has helped me bring them more clearly into focus. I'm not willing to run with the "pack mentality" anymore. At least not if it means sacrificing my physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Maybe I'll end up being a lone wolf. But one thing is for sure, taking care of my health IS fun to me-even if it makes others uncomfortable.

Sleep & dreams: 9 hrs. Dreamt I was in the airport about to take off in a plane. I was hungry so I looked around the terminal for a place to get some raw food (progress!). Everyone wanted to sell me something "healthy" but no one had anything raw. I managed to snag a banana from a basket at one of the ticket counters before boarding my flight.
Exercise: 2 mile hike with dog. 20 minute incline walk/run treadmill.
Sauna: 20 minutes
Energy and mood: Still feeling "up" on all levels.
